Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara announced that the state has implemented strict measures to combat cybercrime, including establishing specialised units and expanding cyber police infrastructure.

Speaking after inaugurating the third annual cybercrime summit "CIDECODE" organised by the Criminal Investigation Department and the Cyber Crime Investigation Training and Research Centre, he said, “Karnataka is not just a state; it is a global brand. When the world looks at Bengaluru, it sees the future of innovation. We have a robust and highly secure digital ecosystem.”

The minister highlighted the creation of 43 Cyber, Economic, and Narcotics police stations across districts and major cities. “Our government is committed to ensuring cybersecurity for our citizens,” he added. Parameshwara explained that the state has fostered a supportive ecosystem for cybersecurity innovation by collaborating with companies specialising in AI, cloud computing, compliance, and risk management.

Parameshwara stressed cooperation with the private sector and international organisations to address emerging threats such as dark web activities, cryptocurrency tracking, financial fraud, and digital forensic advancements.

The establishment of the Cyber Crime Investigation Training and Research Centre (CCITR) has trained over 62,000 personnel, strengthening investigations and research capacity, he said.
